As a UKATA approved training organisation ASKAMS currently provide Category A and Category B

Asbestos Training as well as P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings. They are now launching

their Duty to Manage 1 day course tailored specifically for building managers, landlords,

maintenance teams and property owners who under current legislation have a duty to manage

under CAR 2012 regulation 4.

The objectives of the course are to provide a basic understanding to all duty holders of how they

remain compliant with legislation, safe working procedures, what is expected in a survey, how to

assess the condition of asbestos and the use, requirements and implementation of an asbestos

management plan.

The course will be delivered by a member of the training team who are all approved by UKATA and

audited by Nik Porter (ASKAMS Training Manager) who holds the Postgraduate Certificate in

Education (PGCE) and has nearly 20 years’ experience within the asbestos industry. ASKAMS have
