ASBESTOS AWARENESS E-LEARNING
Our E-Learning training will teach you all you need to know about asbestos, including what asbestos actually is, where you might come across it, and what to do in case of accidental disturbance. Additionally, we spend time looking at the major diseases that could be caused by working with asbestos without the right protection, which include asbestosis, pleural thickening, mesothelioma and lung cancer.
If you believe you are at risk from asbestos in your workplace, our health and safety training is precisely what you need. On the course, you’ll discover where asbestos might be found in the building and how to avoid the risk of exposure.
WHAT IS ASBESTOS?
In this preliminary section, we examine the three basic types of asbestos (chrysotile, crocidolite and amosite), looking at their structure, how they’re used and why they’re a health risk.
WHERE IS ASBESTOS FOUND?
Here we look at the law, including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and your requirement of having current, up-to-date information on the location and condition of asbestos in building on your site before any work commences. Then we look at where you’ll most likely find asbestos, using an interactive building to demonstrate how it could be used in each room.
In this section we look at the procedures which should be followed if you are exposed to asbestos. We use a detailed, step-by-step guide to explain how to avoid disturbing resting asbestos, and how to react if you do.
MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST
In this final section, you will complete a 20 question multiple-choice test which gauges how well you’ve understood the material. Once you’ve done this, you are able to print out a certificate to show that you’ve been through the test.
